It felt like Miguel was a bit distracted. I had hoped for more information regarding the history of the city. Nonetheless he showed me a good store. So all in all it was a good tour.

Things to Do in Cartagena

Cartagena has some exceptional views and... dining places! Head to the historic center and dine by the city walls, looking out to sea. For a full-on food experience, visit the Bazurto Market. This bustling and loud market has everything and will leave you salivating for more. For street food and buzzing nightlife, go to Plaza de la Trinidad in Getsemani. This unassuming square is a people-magnet and at night it is bursting with life. If you are looking for a more sedate experience, head to Centenario Park. Sloths live in the trees here, and sometimes they come down for a curious glance at the tourists. Overlooking the city on a steep hill is the Popa Convent. Take a trip up there for stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and also to enjoy its gorgeous patio. If you need to soak up some sun, take a longer day trip to the Islas del Rosario, where you'll find pristine beaches and sparkling waters.
