Try some of the delicious food it has to offer, each bite representative of one of the communities that migrated to London and ended up living ‘beyond the wall’. On our Free East End Food Tour you decide what to get based on your cravings and budget!
Enjoy London’s favourite chips, according to Time Out Magazine, as you hear about the Irish who fled their country during the potato famine and ended up in the East End building canals and railways. Try a delicious salted beef bagel and learn about the arrivals of Jewish people who escaped from Eastern Europe throughout the 19th century.
Discover how Bangladeshi cuisine had such an impact in British culture! Indulge in some devilishly good West African chocolate and finish the tour with a fresh juice in a hidden hipster juice bar as you make up your mind over one of the most controversial topics in the East End: gentrification.
No other place in London is a bigger reflection of this than the area east of the City Walls. On our Free Food Tour you will understand why this post-industrial brick-loaded London has become such a magnet for foodies all over the world!

As a solo traveller it was great going on a food tour with a lot of amazing people and making new aquaintances. Our tourguide Nick brought us to superb hotspots and talked us through the history of London‘s variation of amazing food with influences from around the world. The concept is great and I would recommend it to anyone who is a foodie just like me!

Jonny was an amazing tour guide for the free food tour! He was so knowledgeable about the history and food around East London. I was also mind blown at all the types of food that he recommended. Such an amazing experience. It was my first time following a free tour and I can't wait to do more!

Yes! As this is England, if we didn’t run the tour on rainy days it would hardly operate at all. Just make sure to have suitable clothing and consider bringing an umbrella if necessary.
Go to the meeting point and look for our guide carrying a Strawberry Umbrella.

We are then able to set the start time to whatever suits you and make the experience more personal. This is also a great option for groups of 8 people or more that are unable to join our free tours together
