I have done many free walking tours, but Paula was an outstanding tour guide! Absolutely recommend the tour!
Discover the incredible world of 'Game of Thrones' in the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik. The Free Game of Thrones Tour has been designed for all types of visitors, from fanatics of the series who want to hear the intriguing behind-the-scenes trivia as well as those who just wish to see the main filming locations whilst taking in the gorgeous landmarks of the city. One of the highlights will be Fort Lovrijenac, the fortress that served as the Red Keep, the emblematic building of King’s Landing in the HBO series. Various key scenes were filmed here, and fans of the show will have great fun finding out which ones. This is a perfect place for a photo or two as it offers stunning views of the Adriatic.
From here, guests on the Game of Thrones Free Tour in Dubrovnik will embark on an exploration of the old city that combines history and fantasy. You will soon discover that the city has featured in many iconic scenes from the series. As guests walk through pedestrian streets and beautiful stone buildings in the citadel, you will be able to stop off to take photos at locations such as the Pile Gate and the Onofrio Fountains, which played an important role in King's Landing. At the Jesuit Steps guests will be able to relive the moment that Cersei began her infamous "walk of shame", and at Gradac Park, they will encounter the scene of the Purple Wedding where Joffrey met his gruesome death.
Along this tour, guests will also discover how Dubrovnik was chosen for the series, as well as learn about some of the lesser-known locations: Minceta Tower, which features in season 2 as the House of the Undying, and the Ethnographic Museum Rupe, where the infamous scenes of Littlefinger's Brothel were filmed. Travelers will also head down to Dubrovnik West Harbor, where they will be able to enjoy stunning views and find out how they filmed the Battle of Blackwater Bay. During the tour, feel free to ask your guide as many questions as you like; they will be more than happy to answer them. And, of course, guests will come away with plenty of recommendations and tips for what to do for the remainder of their stay.
