Dive into the depths of the capital, exploring the oldest and most exciting neighborhoods of this thousand-year-old city: Alfama and Mouraria. Sail through its intricate streets and discover the Muslim footprint that remains after more than four hundred years of domination. Discover the Arab legacy of the tile that became one of the icons of the city and find out about the city’s foundation. Unravel the details of the feat that lies behind the Christian conquest. Enjoy Lisbon’s beautiful views, soaking in the privileged location of its viewpoints, places where locals and foreigners alike gather to enjoy the picturesque scenery. Discover the Mouraria neighborhood, where you will stroll down the cradle of fado. Legend has it that in the 19th century, Maria Severa created the Saudade, the melancholic music that reflects – through its tragic melodies and profound lyrics – the country’s essence. After her, an endless number of great fadistas left their mark in the neighborhood, such as Fernando Mauricio or the famous Amalia Rodrigues. During our Free Tour Alfama and Mouraria, you will explore the part of Lisbon that has not yet been devoured by tourists, one that is apparently isolated in time and therefore better preserved, the Lisbon that sings to itself the glories of a better past. This tour will be operated by our local partners in Lisbon
