Join our Belem Free Tour to visit the most popular neighborhood in Lisbon. The beautiful and monumental Belem District with its two iconic buildings: The imposing Monastery of The Jeronimos, quintessential example of the autochthonous Manuelino artistic style, and the Tower of Belem! Dig deep into times of discovery, from the Middle to Modern Ages that supposes the beginning of today’s globalization. Be delighted by the estuary of Tajo, a symbolic axis that worked as an entrance and exit to Portuguese ships which formed Lisbon as one of the most rich and influential cities of the Modern Era. Understand how everything arose through the need of spices, food seasonings that back then invoked great expeditions and moved naval fleets with thousands of people from all over the world. On our Belem Free Tour you will see one of the most memorable areas in Lisbon, and grasp the roots of a great Portuguese Empire, forged overseas, beyond the waves.
