We recently joined a free walking tour in San Jose, Costa Rica, and it was one of the best ways to get introduced to the city. If you're visiting Costa Rica and starting your trip in San José, this tour is a must-do. Our guide Ricardo was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and spoke both English and Spanish fluently. He made the tour engaging with stories about Costa Rica's history, politics, and culture without making it feel like a history lecture. The pace was relaxed, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take photos. We get to watch the Independence Day parade as a bonus!

Ricardo is great, it was a very interesting and detailed tour. I am very very happy I took it! It is my first time here. Ricardo is explaining many things in a very relaxed atmosphere and making the best use of the city center area. I was missing, though, one or two planned short breaks to sit down for a few minutes or go to the bathroom.
