From tours hosted by famous football legends to a self-guided audio tour that lets you explore Emirates Stadium at your own pace, it’s no wonder the Arsenal Stadium Tour has become such a popular attraction for sports fans visiting London.

The origins of Arsenal Football Club date back to 1886, but over the years, the team has experienced many name and location changes. Arsenal FC moved to the Emirates Stadium in Holloway in 2006, the same year the stadium was officially opened to the public.

With 60,260 seats, the Emirates Stadium cost an impressive £390 million to complete. The stadium is also home to the Arsenal Museum, featuring two video theatres and 20 large displays dedicated to the history of Arsenal FC.

Arsenal Stadium Tours Highlights

There are four different Arsenal Stadium Tours to choose from, which include:

  • Stadium Tour: Visitors can wander through the Emirates Stadium at their own pace with audio handsets available in 10 languages. The tour includes access to the Directors’ Box, both home and away changing rooms, the Players’ Tunnel, the pitchside, and areas typically off-limits to the public.
  • Take to the Pitch Tour: This tour allows visitors to step onto the pitch and take part in pre-match drills, experiencing what players do before a match. Visitors need to bring their own football boots and shin pads.
  • Legends Tour: Led by former Arsenal players like Charlie George, Nigel Winterburn, and Perry Groves, this tour includes a guided walk around the Emirates Stadium. The legends answer questions about their playing days, take photos with visitors, and may even share their thoughts on the current team.
  • VIP Legends Experience: This 4-hour private tour with Nigel Mitchell includes a stadium tour, lunch, and a meeting with a legendary Arsenal player.

Complimentary access to the Arsenal Museum is included in all the experiences.

Special Tips

tip In the past, some people have complained that the self-guided audio tour was a bit impersonal, as there is no one to really guide you around the stadium (although members of staff are always at hand to answer your questions). So if you're a true-blue hardcore Arsenal fan, it may be worth the money to upgrade to a personalized tour.

tip If you plan on taking a tour on a match day, be aware that the Arsenal Stadium can get incredibly busy both before and after the game. To avoid the crowds and if you plan on using the underground, try going to the Finsbury Park, Highbury, and Islington stations instead.

tip A visit to this stadium might be the perfect conclusion to a free walking tour around London with a local guide.
